Yesterday I took Ellen to the beach. I figured now that she can walk, it might not be too disastrous. Stephanie, our neighbor girl, came with us. At first, Ellen didn't like the sand. She kept trying to wipe it off her feet and hands and said, "Gicky."
I took her in the ocean but she was very scared of the waves. She wasn't too bad with me holding her in the water but didn't like it when she got splashed. So, we put some water in her little boat and she had a blast playing in it like a swimming pool. We took her out in the ocean in the boat and she thought that was pretty fun, especially when Stephanie swam underneath the boat and Ellen could see her through the bottom.
Stephanie dug a big hole and we put Ellen in it. She decided the sand wasn't so "Gicky" after all.
Ooh a sand castle! What should I do with it?
Destroy it!! No problem putting my hands in the sand now!
