Sleepy Girl

I left Ellen to play with Daddy today for about 3 hours while I did some errands. I guess he wore her out because she couldn't even make it through dinner without falling asleep!

First Mother's Day

I had a good first Mother's Day. Korey went to Havana, Cuba in the morning but brought me roses (from Ellen) when he came home. Ellen got me a card with her picture and a footprint on it (that Carmen made at daycare). We went out to dinner at Applebee's.

Ellen thinks she's pretty big. She has learned to crawl up into her carseat and sit down by herself. I guess eventually we should put her new carseats in the cars. I'm just not ready to give up the convenience of the baby car seat yet. Plus she is obviously having fun playing with the carseat in the house.

Ellen hard at work stacking her blocks. She loves putting things inside other things.

Ellen likes to put her shapes bucket on her arm like a purse and wave bye bye. I never showed her how to do it. She just started doing this all by herself.

Best Friends

Our neighbor Stephanie loves to come over and play with Ellen. She is 14 and a really good girl. Ellen just loves her!
Ellen is doing so many new things, it is hard to keep track of them all. She has taken a few steps on her own, she is starting to share, she helped clean up her first toys tonight (of course not all of them--she had made a HUGE mess) and she is trying to say so many words. She says uh-oh only she says uh-uh, bye-bye, look, dada. She's trying to say ball, book, done, night-night, baila (dance in Spanish), and no (this one is not good). When I tell her no, she scrunches up her face and says really loud, "Nnnnn!"
Tonight she crawled in her room and was playing by herself. I kept looking in on her and I guess she wanted some alone time because she closed her door so I couldn't see her. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen until she was a teenager!
