9 Months

Ellen had her 9
month check up
yesterday. No
shots--yay! She had to get her finger pricked though. Always something to torture the babies. She weighs 16 pounds 11 ounces (11th percentile), she's 28 inches tall (57th percentile), and her head is 17 1/2 inches (59th percentile). She's healthy and meeting all of her milestones for her age. According to her blood test, her iron is good and she doesn't have too much lead (I guess we managed to avoid the BAD Chinese toys--phew!)

First Tooth

Ellen had quite the eventful weekend. Saturday morning her first tooth popped up. It hasn't broken through the skin yet but it's visible. (I added a picture of it now that it has popped through) She seemed pretty uncomfortable all day and was happy to have Tylenol. Sunday she was much better. I bought her some Cheerios and she thought they were the greatest thing (her first real solid food). I think she would have eaten an entire box if I'd let her! We took her to get her pictures taken with a real bunny. She loved the bunny and crawled right up to it. Poor bunny--she grabbed it by the ears and picked it up, squeezed it's head and slapped it with her hands because she was so excited. Good thing the bunny was a good sport and seemed to like Ellen no matter what she did.
